The spiritual heart of Mcely

In common with many villages from the early middle ages the church has been the centre of village life. And they take their saints very seriously here! Mcely and the surrounding St George forest have been the subject of legends for centuries (see the history section for more on this) .

Remarkably we have come up with a couple of images from when the church itself was under construction in the 19th century.
