Whether your idea of recreation sport is a 50km mountain bike trail, a leisurely loft in a hot air balloon or a stroll around the Zoo, Mcely and the surrounding region is a perfect place to get outdoors. The adjacent Jabkenice game park and St George Forest provide many kilometers of walking, cycling, horse back riding, boating, fishing, hunting and many other recreational activities, and the greater region boasts mountains, rivers and much more.

Walking

The nearby forest and preserve are great places for short strolls or long hikes. Some walking activities:

• Walking in St George Forest Walk
• The footpath of Princess Almery
• The Bedřich Smetana walk in the Jabkenice game park. Follow the footsteps of the great composer and see where he got the inspiration for some of his most famous works such as "My Fatherland"
• Mushrooming or rosehip picking in the adjacent Jabkenice game park
• Serious hill walkers can take a car to the nearby hills or event the famous Krkonoše Mountains (about 1hr drive)

The flat Elbe lowland is very suitable for cycling. The Path of Elbe leading from village of Libice nad Cidlinou to the spa town of Poděbardy and Nymburk is mainly enjoyed by cyclists and in-line skaters. We can recommend you cycling path no. 24 and no. 0019.
