the Alchemist Club
The Alchemist Club is located in the original 17th century basement of the chateau and invites you to sit down in the evening with a glass of wine, brandy or cognac, or try a quality cigar from the chateau humidor – this is the only place in the chateau where smoking is permitted. This part of the cellar is built in white stone and is separated by a floor-to-ceiling wall of glass from a high-tech wine cellar area, which allows us to maintain our exclusive selection of international wines at optimum conditions for their preservation. The Alchemist Club is a favorite place of Jim Cusumano, owner of the chateau, who is known among friends as a “Neo-alchemist.” Maybe it’s because here you can find a working original 1950’s jukebox which he brought to Chateau Mcely from his family home in California. It contains more than a hundred 45 rpm hit records from the 1950s and 1960s. Titles are replaced periodically as Jim is a collector of old rock ‘n roll music. He was a successful recording artist in the 1950s and 1960s, and one of the pioneers of early rock ‘n roll music.
