The tangible past

When we think of today's world of Microsoft Word and Google Earth we can't help find something deeply fascinting about the elaborate care that went into the early official documents such as title deeds and the lovingly-drawn maps and plans. (Although keeping with tradition, see our own hand-drawn maps)

"Mcely" is Celtic in origin, and the original settlement allotments (from before the time there was a village) tell the story of human habitation here since the bronze age.
