Rebuilding a Chateau

Enter through our main gates and you will find yourself in a 17th century chateau updated for today’s world. Then it was the height of aristocratic comfort, today we strive to the same goal.

Our attention to details starts at the outer gate where we have sought to create the introduction to what you will see inside: a combination of history, nature and modern technology.

We have provided a fascinating look at the chateau's design and reconstruction through the eyes and sketchbook of our chief designer Oto Blaha. See the gallery for more.

The Hotel...     Take a Virtual Tour of Chateau Mcely

At the Chateau you are spoiled for choice. In fact we will spoil you in all other matters when you arrive; but for now take a browse through our castle to help you with that agonising decision: what room should I choose this time?

If you can't wait to get here to see it for yourself, take a brief virtual tour.

Please note, the virtual tour requires the Flash player to be installed on your browse. Click here to install.

The Floors

Ground Floor: Piano Nobile. "Principal floor of a classical building". Our ground floor features the main salon, restaurant, reception, conference areas, and access to the underground Alchymist bar.
First Floor: Floor of the World. Climb the gracious stairs to reach the floor where our most elegant bedrooms are situated. Hand painted walls, spacious ceilings and large balcony overlooking the forest make the "Gold room" a superb conference venue, festive environment for your wedding ceremony, or just a quiet place to relax.

Second Floor: Wing of Time features rooms named after some famous guests from history such as Mark Twain and Ranier Maria Rilke. Each of the other 12 bedrooms in the Wing of the Year are named for a month of the year!

Third Floor: Agape. The only guest room on this floor is the aptly named Angel's Room. Its amazing views and atmosphere makes this the most romantic room in the castle.
Fourth: Studiolo. From the British National Gallery: "a small room, often lavishly decorated, dedicated to reading, studying and writing. It is generally of a relatively private character". Our cosy library is the perfect place to retreat when inclement weather beckons, or for that private board meeting...
Roof: Observatory. With your favourite tipple in hand stand on the roof of the forest (and the chateau) and take in the sunset or watch the stars. Perfection.
