See our Afternoon Tea.
Historical aside: The afternoon tea is said to have been started by the Duchess of Bedford as a means to assuage the hunger developed between lunch and dinner (which was often quite late).

A little earlier, another aristocrat, The Earl of Sandwich, who was a dedicated gambler, did not want to leave the table to take his meal. So he asked a servant to bring him two pieces of bread and some meat and thus invented the sandwich!

Now the tea and the sandwich (along with other delicacies) support social gatherings world wide, including central Bohemia.

Holding a private tea party? We can organise music for you from hot jazz to cool harps...

The Hotel...     Afternoon Tea

"If man has no tea in him, he is incapable of understanding truth and beauty."

- Japanese Proverb

theThe Tea Hall is the scene for that quintessentially aristocratic experience – the Afternoon Tea. In Victorian times between the day’s activities and the evening meal, house guests would gather to discuss the day whilst sampling that relatively recent sensation to hit Europe – tea. Coupled with classic cakes and delicacies this is a delightful tradition that lives on today at the Chateau Mcely.

Pouring our tea from a lovely Russian Samovar into classic porcelain cups, nibbling our home-made sweets and savouries, surrounded by the sumptuous setting of the Tea Hall – can any environment be more conducive to the discussion of truth and beauty?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Henry James: The Portrait of a Lady.
